Nā Kia'i O Maui
The Guardians of Maui

Nā Kiaʻi O Maui grew from a determination to care for one another in the aftermath of the August 2023 wildfires. What began as a response to devastating loss continues as a commitment to stand beside Maui’s people through disaster, recovery, and the challenges that follow. We serve individuals and families whose needs remain unmet and those who have exhausted available resources, fallen through gaps in assistance, or are still searching for a way forward.

Behind every request for help is a person, a family, and a story. A bag of food can ease a parent’s worry. A bed can bring comfort after months of uncertainty. A caring conversation can remind someone that they do not have to face their struggles alone. We meet people with compassion and respect, recognizing both the hardships they carry and the strength they bring to their own recovery.

Through our three initiatives, we bring essential resources, trusted connections, and space to heal into one connected pathway of support. Together with our community, volunteers, and partners, we help people rebuild stability, renew their sense of belonging, and move toward a future with hope.

Our commitment is to remain present, active, and relevant—to listen, to show up, and to serve where, when, and how the people of Maui need us.
